Course Summary
CITB SMSTS Refresher Course
The CITB SMSTS Refresher Course is designed for site managers and supervisors who have previously completed the CITB Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) and need to renew their certification. This course updates knowledge on current health, safety, and environmental legislation and reinforces the key principles for managing site safety.

Updates on health, safety, and environmental legislation
Managing risks and hazards on construction sites
Effective safety management systems
Site safety planning and implementation
Emergency procedures and incident management
Ensuring compliance with current safety regulations
Assessment
At the end of the CITB SMSTS Refresher course delegates are required to sit an exam paper consisting of 25 questions. There are 18 multiple choice questions (each worth one mark) and 7 questions in multi-response or short written answer format (each worth two marks).
Duration
This course requires a minimum of 15 hours. This should take a 2 days.
Certification Validity
This qualification lasts 5 years, then a refresher course needs to be completed
Further Information - Course Numbers
A maximum of 12 students are allowed and must be a minimum of 16 years of age and a certificate can be offered to all, subject to assessment.
Assessment method: Activities, test paper.
Pre-requisite: NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (Recommended)
