This 6 hr course fulfils half of OFSTED's 12 hr paediatric first aid requirement for EYFS.



Course Summary
FAA Level 3 Award in Emergency Paediatric First Aid at Work (RQF)
If you have a professional interest, i.e. you are a child-minder or school teacher, etc, then this course partly fulfils the requirements of Ofsted and the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
Ofsted and the Early Years Foundation Stage require you to have 12 hours of paediatric first aid training, so the 2-Day Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid would be required to fulfil their requirements. This 6 hour qualification also makes up the first half of the 12-hour course.





Course Contents
Unit 1:
Be able to assess an emergency situation and prioritise what action to take
Help a baby or child who is unresponsive and breathing normally
Help a baby or child who is unresponsive and not breathing normally
Help a baby or child who is having a seizure
Help a baby or child who is choking Help a baby or child who is bleeding
Help a baby or child who is suffering from shock caused by severe blood loss (hypovolemic shock)

Assessment
The instructor conducts ongoing summative practical assessments and written assessments. Upon successful completion, learners will receive regulated qualification. No external assessments are required for this qualification.
Duration
The course requires a minimum of 6 hours, distributed over the day. While it is ideal to complete the course in one day, we can adjust the schedule to suit your specific needs, as long as the course is completed within 3 weeks of starting and each training session lasts at least two hours.

Certification Validity
This qualification is valid for three years. To renew it, learners must complete the course again. It is recommended that learners attend annual refresher courses during the three-year period.

A maximum of 12 students can be accommodated on this course and all candidates must be a minimum of 16 years of age to qualify.
