Course Summary

FAA Level 1 Award in Health & Safety in the Workplace (RQF)

All aspects of Health and Safety are important to a business whether you are an employee, contractor or supplier and this half-day course will benefit both the learner and the business, ensuring that the working environment is a safe and healthy one. Our Awarding Organisation, First Aid Awards Ltd, has been associated with the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) and Proskills UK for the purpose of developing new Health & Safety qualifications. Successful candidates will be awarded a national Level 1 (Level 4 in Scotland) qualification which will provide an ideal platform to higher level training or career development.

Course Contents

  • Understanding the importance of health, safety and welfare standards in the workplace 

  • Knowing how hazards and risks are controlled in the workplace 

  • Being aware of the main causes and effects of poor health and safety at work 

  • Understanding how health and safety information is communicated in the workplace

Assessment

The instructor conducts a single written assessment at the end of the course. Upon successful completion, learners will receive the qualification and certification. No external assessors are required for this qualification.

Duration

The course requires a minimum of 4 hours, distributed over the day. While it is ideal to complete the course in one day, we can adjust the schedule to suit your specific needs.

Certification Validity 

This qualification has no formal expiry, however regular CPD and updates are recommended.

A maximum of 12 students are allowed and must be a minimum of 16 years of age and a certificate can be offered to all, subject to assessment.
