Course Contents
Understand how health and safety legislation is applied in a workplace and the possible enforcement actions that could be taken.

How to advise on a range of common workplace health and safety issues including how these can be assessed, controlled and monitored.
How to develop a health and safety policy strategy. How to contribute to a risk management strategy.
How to promote a positive health and safety culture.
Develop and audit health and safety management systems.
Maintain individual and organisational health and safety competence.
Manage contractors and supply chains to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
Assessment
DN1 – Know – workplace health and safety principles. Assignment - workplace-based tasks together with simulations and reflective statements and a research topic. DN2 – Do – controlling workplace health issues. Scenario-based case study. DN3 – Do – controlling workplace safety issues. Scenario-based case study.
Duration
This course requires a minimum of 191 taught hours, 144 recommended self-study hours and 80 assessment hours.
Certification Validity
This qualification has no formal expiry, however regular CPD and updates are recommended.
Further Information - Course Numbers
A maximum of 12 students are allowed and must be a minimum of 16 years of age and a certificate can be offered to all, subject to assessment.
