WEEKEND FREC 3 - First Response Emergency Care - Level 3 DARLINGTON 10 Evolution Business Park, Barrington Way, Darlington, DL1 4FA Course Summary The leading Level 3 Prehospital care qualification, Qualsafe Level 3 Award in First Response Emergency Care (RQF). Equipping first responders with essential lifesaving skills, exceeding HSE first aid requirements, it forms the first step of a progressive suite of prehospital care qualifications. You will fulfil the competencies set out in the PHEM skills framework at level D, gaining the knowledge and practical skills needed to deal with a range of prehospital emergency care situations. A perfect fit for individuals looking to work or volunteer as a first responder. This qualification is also suitable for law enforcement officers, firefighters, those providing medical cover at events, and those working in high-risk environments including the military, power stations, agriculture and manufacturing.​ Course Contents A range of subjects are covered including: Roles and responsibilities of a first responder Medical emergencies Patient assessment Airway management Adult, child and infant CPR & AED usage Return of spontaneous circulation (ROSC) procedures Emergency oxygen Traumatic and minor injuries External, internal and catastrophic bleeding Shock Poisoning and intoxicating substances Helmet removal Neck, spine and pelvic immobilisation Environmental exposure Burns and scalds Incident reporting Certification Summative practical assessment is ongoing by the instructor each day, along with written assessments. A three-year Level 3 Award in First Response Emergency Care will be issued to the learner, subject to successful assessment. Learners who achieve this qualification may progress on to other related qualifications within pre-hospital care. Qualsafe also offer qualifications in health & safety, food safety and safeguarding should learners wish to diversify. Cancellation Policy

Transfers of Dates Should circumstances mean that you need to transfer course dates the following charges will apply, dependent on the notice given: • First transfer, made more than four weeks prior to the course start date - no charge • Two to four weeks notice given - 25% of the course fee • Less than two weeks notice given - 50% of the course fee All transfers must be within a period of six months. Cancellations Should circumstances mean that you have to cancel your course and are unable to transfer to another date at the time of cancellation, the following charges will apply: • More than four weeks prior to the course start date - no charge • Two to four weeks prior to the course - 50% of the course fee • Less than two weeks prior to the course - full fee Cancellation must be made in writing by post, fax or email and received by the due date.
