WEEKEND FREC4 - First Response Emergency Care - Level 4 DARLINGTON 10 Evolution Business Park, Barrington Way, Darlington, DL1 4FA Course Summary The Qualsafe Level 4 Certificate in First Response Emergency Care (RQF) is a regulated and nationally recognised prehospital care qualification specifically designed for those looking to progress their career within the NHS or independent ambulance services as an emergency care assistant, intermediate ambulance practitioner, or event medical provider. It is also ideal for those who are looking to work within specialist roles in the military, police and fire services. ​ Following on from the Qualsafe Level 3 Award in First Response Emergency Care (RQF), this qualification provides learners with a wider scope of practice in prehospital care emergencies and also forms part of a progressive suite of prehospital care qualifications. Course Contents A range of subjects are covered including: Initial patient assessment Physiological observations Anatomy and physiology Heart disease Electrocardiogram application and monitoring Managing a patient’s airway Medical gases Thoracic trauma Sepsis Maternity care Respiratory disorders and infections Mechanisms of injury and kinetics Triage Sexual assault Major incidents Psychosocial development in children Emergency care for sick and injured children Mental health crisis Assisting the clinician with clinical interventions Certification Summative practical assessment is ongoing by the instructor each day, along with written assessments. A Level 4 Award in First Response Emergency Care will be issued to the learner, subject to successful assessment. Learners who achieve this qualification may progress on to other related qualifications within pre-hospital care. Qualsafe also offer qualifications in health & safety, food safety and safeguarding should learners wish to diversify. Further Information Duration: five-days (39 hrs + 141 hrs self study) Group size: 6 Candidates per 1 Trainer/Assessor Assessment method: Activities, test paper, practical assessments, workbooks Pre-requisite: First Response Emergency Care Level 3 Suggested progression: recommended annual ILS training, Level 3 Safe Administration of Lifesaving Medications Level 5 First Response Emergency Care and Urgent Care.

Cancellation Policy

Transfers of Dates Should circumstances mean that you need to transfer course dates the following charges will apply, dependent on the notice given: • First transfer, made more than four weeks prior to the course start date - no charge • Two to four weeks notice given - 25% of the course fee • Less than two weeks notice given - 50% of the course fee All transfers must be within a period of six months. Cancellations Should circumstances mean that you have to cancel your course and are unable to transfer to another date at the time of cancellation, the following charges will apply: • More than four weeks prior to the course start date - no charge • Two to four weeks prior to the course - 50% of the course fee • Less than two weeks prior to the course - full fee Cancellation must be made in writing by post, fax or email and received by the due date.
